Writing has always been a private thing for me. When I write for myself, the words flow effortlessly, and I am able to work through my ideas with ease. Give me the opportunity to speak in a small group, and you will find me eager to participate, share and engage in discussion. Invite me to deliver information to a large group of strangers, and I will jump right in. Ask me write something that will be published and I freeze. A newsletter, an article, a blog post... it's agony. I fret over each word. Writing, re-writing, revising and spending far too much time obsessed with whether I used the proper sentence structure.
This is not the first time I have attempted to start a blog. In the past, I started from a different place: the desire to be a successful blogger. I started with the "what." This time as I dive into something that is extremely uncomfortable for me, I will begin with the "why."
Why am I blogging? I am blogging to learn.
